A three-witness defense rests; Davis will not testify

The defense presented its entire case on Aug. 27 and rested the same day, calling three witnesses. Retired LVMPD officer Stan Hyt, stationed at Suge Knight's residence during the Mike Tyson fight, testified he saw no damage to vehicles entering the property; Officer Charlie Mangrum, monitoring the party there, said he saw a BMW carrying Shakur arrive around 10:10–10:15 p.m.; and Dan Long, a former gang-crimes and homicide detective, testified that thousands of firearms were tested over the years but none matched the cartridge casings found at the crime scene. Duane "Keffe D" Davis waived his right to testify, and prosecutors declined to call rebuttal witnesses.
